Evelyn is intrigued by architecture and interior design, but she has only had a few opportunities to learn about these topics thus far. Her mentorship project concept is to re-design her bedroom.
What challenges did she face?
- She’d like to learn more about industrial interior design, but hasn’t had the connections to learn from the experienced in the past.
- She had no prior experience with model sketching and was eager to learn more.
The mentor is an assistant professor of environmental and interior design, as well as the M.F.A. degree in design. She is now the chair of the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ Faculty Council.
How did our program help her?
- She learned about freehand sketching, color psychology, materials, perspective drawings, and many other aspects of interior design.
- At the end of the session, she gave a presentation of her work and received feedback from the mentor on several aspects.
